Haiti’s Angel’s Restaurant Program

Re: “Haiti’s Angels” Restaurant program

Dear Restaurateur,

On Sunday Night, January 30, 2010, the Second Annual “Sending Our Love to Haiti” Benefit Concert will take place at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (PAC) in Englewood, New Jersey. The event is being sponsored by an interfaith group led by The Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and Temple Sinai of Bergen County, with numerous sponsoring houses of worship throughout the region supporting these efforts. Performers from Broadway, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Opera will come together at 7:30 PM for a night of music and love for the people of Haiti.

Last year’s event resulted in donations of over $100,000 with proceeds going to various Haiti relief funds including Church World Service, UJA of Northern New Jersey, Catholic Charities, Project Hope Orphanage (Theo’s Works), Reformation Hope Orphanage and Sacre’ Coeur Hospital in Milot. This year’s proceeds will go towards two very noteworthy projects at Hospital Sacre’ Coeur in Milot Haiti. The first is a badly needed urgent care/healing center that will include an emergency room, an outpatient clinic and a burn center. The second is a residence hall for Haitian medical staff who come to Milot to serve in the hospital and international medical and lay volunteers who would also like to serve there but for whom there is nowhere to stay. Both of these projects are a part of the largest expansion project in the history of Hospital Sacre’ Coeur, the largest private hospital in Haiti.

It will take many years to rebuild Haiti and to heal the wounds of the earthquake, hurricanes and cholera outbreaks, but “Sending Our Love to Haiti” is committed to continuing its efforts to assist in that healing process. We need partners to make a difference and every contribution and commitment gets us one step close to reaching our goal of building these needed facilities.

To help us accomplish our goals we are asking Bergen County restaurateurs to contribute a percentage of their revenue on January 29, 2011. With a minimum 10% donation your eatery will be designated a “Haiti’s Angel” Restaurant and will be provided Point of Sale materials (Posters and Table tents) for the week leading up to the event.

Your restaurant will also be featured in the “Sending Our Love to Haiti” advertisements the week prior to the concert including but not limited to the following publications; Bergen County Record, the Ledger Star, the Suburbanite and additional local magazines and newspapers. In addition, your eatery will be included on the list of “Haiti’s Angels” on our web site as well as all of our on-line publications and social media sites.

We will also be sending out a press release on the one-year anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti announcing all of the restaurants who will be participating in the program. We look forward to your participation and may God bless you.

Warmest Regards,
Carol Silverman-Kurtz
